How to Play Solitaire at iCanada Games

Objective:
The goal of Solitaire is to move all the cards to the foundation piles, sorted by suit and in ascending order, from Ace to King. You’ll need strategy and focus to clear the tableau and achieve victory!

Game Setup:

  • The game begins with a shuffled deck of 52 cards.
  • The tableau consists of seven columns, each with a varying number of face-up and face-down cards.
  • The foundation consists of four empty piles, one for each suit: Hearts, Diamonds, Clubs, and Spades.
  • Pro Tips:

    • Look for Aces and Twos first to start building your foundations early.
    • Think ahead before moving cards—sometimes a seemingly small move can unlock major opportunities later on.
    • Manage your tableau spaces wisely—empty spaces can be incredibly useful when you need to rearrange cards.

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Move Cards in the Tableau
In the tableau, you can move cards around by placing them in descending order and alternating colors (e.g., a red 7 on a black 8). The objective is to uncover face-down cards and move them into play.

  2. Build Foundations
As soon as you uncover an Ace, move it to one of the foundation piles. From there, continue building the pile by adding cards of the same suit in ascending order (e.g., Ace, 2, 3, 4… King).

  3. Uncover Hidden Cards
Your goal in the tableau is to expose and free up as many cards as possible. Once a column becomes empty, you can place a King (with its sequence) in that space to help organize your cards.

  4. Use the Stockpile (Draw Cards)
If no more moves are available in the tableau, draw a card from the stockpile. You can use these cards to either add to your foundations or make moves in the tableau
